Storage & continuity
Data requires alignment between performance, availability and recoverability.
How I can help
Experience with vSAN, NetApp ONTAP and StorageGRID, Pure and enterprise storage. Evaluate design choices against workloads, failure scenarios and operations.
Assess storage against the workload
Capacity alone says little about whether a storage design is suitable. I consider workload behaviour, performance, availability, recoverability and the connection to compute and networking. My experience includes vSAN, NetApp ONTAP and StorageGRID, Pure and enterprise storage.
Failure scenarios across the complete chain
A review can address component failure, interrupted connectivity, maintenance and site loss within the agreed scope. Replication and backup are considered against their objectives and recovery paths. I make remaining dependencies visible and identify what operations must be able to validate.
Design, troubleshooting and handover
I support storage design, platform reviews, performance investigations and migrations. The approach connects observations to substantiated decisions. Where needed, I work with the relevant specialists and vendors so the outcome can be maintained in operations.

Performance and continuity from the workload
My storage experience includes vSAN ESA, NetApp ONTAP and StorageGRID, and Pure. I have worked on questions around VDI, file services and enterprise infrastructure. These workloads require different decisions on capacity, latency, availability and peak behaviour.
Include the path to the data
Storage extends beyond a volume or datastore. I also examine network paths, protocols, redundancy and how compute consumes the storage. Looking at the full chain is particularly useful during performance investigations and migrations, so that a problem is addressed at the right layer.
